Day 1

  • Students should read Chapter 1
  • Students should choose their favorite passage from the chapter and write it in their journals. If they prefer, we have chosen a passage in the [Copywork] section.
  • Vocabulary: As the student is reading, have them take notice of any unusual words or phrases that they are unfamiliar with and write them in their notebook.
  • Copywork: Copy the chosen passage exactly as it is written in the book. Check for correct spelling and punctuation. Discuss any unusual grammar. We have chosen a passage that you can use in the [Copywork] section, if you prefer.

Day 2

  • Students should read Chapter 2
  • Vocabulary: As the student is reading, have them take notice of any unusual words or phrases that they are unfamiliar with and write them in their notebook.
  • Copywork: Copy the passage from Day 1 again.

Day 3

  • Students should read Chapter 3
  • Vocabulary: As the student is reading, have them take notice of any unusual words or phrases that they are unfamiliar with and write them in their notebook.
  • Copywork: Copy the chosen passage exactly as it is written in the book for the final time. Review the grammar again.

Day 4

  • Students should read Chapter 4
  • Vocabulary: As the student is reading, have them take notice of any unusual words or phrases that they are unfamiliar with and write them in their notebook.
  • Dictation: Let the student review the copywork passage once more. Then dictate it to the student while they transcribe it perfectly onto the paper. If your child is young, or needs a little help, you can use the French Dictation worksheet provided in the Copywork.

  • Students should read Chapter 5
  • Students should choose their favorite passage from the chapter. This will be used for copywork.
  • Vocabulary: As the student is reading, have them take notice of any unusual words or phrases that they are unfamiliar with and write them in their notebook.
  • Copywork: Copy the chosen passage exactly as it is written in the book. Check for correct spelling and punctuation. Discuss any unusual grammar. We have chosen a passage that you can use in the next section, [Copywork].
