🔍 What Kind of Paper Are You Writing?

Before you choose a final topic, let’s figure out what kind of paper you want to write. There are two main types of research papers: analytical and argumentative.

Analytical Paper

This type of paper explores and explains a topic in depth. It does not offer an argument or try to persuade. You’ll be exploring the facts and breaking down the information, not trying to convince the reader of anything.

Argumentative Paper

This type of paper argues a point. You’ll take a position on a topic and support your opinion with research.
It often answers the question “should someone or something do or be … ?”.
