Explore Your Habitat

No matter the season, your home is part of a bigger world called a habitat.
Let’s go outside and see what your habitat looks like today!

Look around you.

• What do you see in your environment?
• What kinds of animals, insects, or plants live near you?
• What do you notice about the weather or the ground?
• Are there any colors, sounds, or smells that tell you what season it is?
• Take out your Nature Journal and record what you observe. Then sketch your habitat. Make sure to label your sketches and include the date and time.

Come back to this same spot another day in a different season. What has changed? What has stayed the same?
