One way to become a better writer is to read good writing.

Read:

This week read "A View From the Bridge" by Cherokee Paul McDonald from The Norton Sampler: Seventh Edition.

Writing Assignment:

For this writing lesson, you are going to use the notes that you made about the main characters of the book to make stick figures. Watch this video for some insight into this process.

• Gather the notes you made as you were reading about the characters. These will help you draw the character.
• Choose three characters from the story and using what you learned about stick figures in the video draw them. Sticky notes size is perfectly acceptable!
• Label your drawings with the characters' names.
• Put these drawings and your notes in your notebook. You will continue using them as you progress through the book.
