In chapter 3, Isabel and Ruth had to leave their home and could not take any of their possessions, not even "Ruth's baby doll made of flannel bits and calico."

Let's make a doll from some fabric scraps. You could purchase fabric or use old clothing that you have outgrown or that is stained, etc.

For this project, you will need:

• 6+ rectangles of fabric cut approximately in the same size
• 1 larger square of fabric
• a clothespin
• thread and scissors
