Nature Journal Resources
We will go on outside adventures during this book club. You will need a nature journal. This can be a nature journal you own, a drawing pad, or a regular notebook.
We recommend our Nature Journal that is designed to help student observe the world around them. You can purchase it in our shop by clicking on the picture below.
You will need the following supplies for projects listed throughout the course. You do not have to complete each project. Choose those you think would be interesting.
Project 1, Leaf Fox:
- Leaves
- Glue
- Googly eyes
Project 2, Paint a Painted Lady:
- Plain Paper or Sketch Book
- Scissors
- Orange, Black, Brown and White Tempera Paint
- Paint Tray or Paper Plate
- Paint Brushes
- Painted Lady Template (I found a coloring page HERE.)
Project 3, Make a Bird Feeder
- Cooking oil spray
- Bundt pan
- ½ cup of warm water
- 1 envelope of Knox gelatin
- ¾ cup of flour
- 3 Tablespoons of corn syrup
- 4 cups of Bird seed
- A ribbon. (I used a scrap strip of burlap)
Project 4, Wildflower Press
- Cardboard
- Paper towel
- Newspaper
- Scissors
- String or rubberbands
- Wildflowers
Project 5, Watercolor Squirrel:
- Watercolor paper
- Watercolor paint set
- Paintbrushes
- White and brown crayons
- Sharpie marker
- Spray bottle of water
- Table salt
