For this book club, we will be using the book, Lion: A Long Way Home Young Readers' Edition by Saroo Brierley.
You can purchase it in digital, paperback, hardcover, and audio formats. It is also available at many local libraries. This is the only book you will need for this book club.
You will also need a notebook for your notes, copywork, dictation, and journaling.
**Parent Note: This book may contain phrases or situations in which you do not feel comfortable. I recommend this course for upper elementary age children and older. Saroo was born in India to a Hindu mother and a Muslim father. When Saroo's father leaves his mother, money is scarce. Saroo's mother struggles to earn enough to feed and shelter her four children, so they are almost always hungry. They also receive no education. Nevertheless, Saroo is happy.
