For this book club, we will be using the books Maus I and Maus II, or you can purchase The Complete Maus by Art Spiegelman. You can purchase it in digital, paperback, hardcover, and audio formats. It is also available at many local libraries.

You will also need a notebook or binder for your notes, vocabulary, and writing.

This graphic memoir contains graphic depictions of Holocaust violence, including murder, starvation, abuse, imprisonment, and death in concentration camps. It also includes suicide, racism, and antisemitism, as well as occasional profanity and brief nudity in illustrations. The book is widely taught in high schools as an essential work for understanding both history and intergenerational trauma. Families should be aware of its mature themes and may wish to engage in discussion alongside reading.
