Choosing Your Twist
This month you’ll write your own Twisted Tale. That means you’ll take a story you already know and give it a big change.
You have two choices for your twist:
- Change the setting. Move your story to a completely different time or place.
- By changing the setting, the characters and other details will need to change, as well.
- Change the narrator. Retell your story from a surprising point of view.
- In The Book Thief, Death tells the story. Can you come up with a way to retell an old favorite story with an unusual narrator?
👉 Read this article bout modern twists on old classics to give you some ideas of how other authors have accomplished this.
Your task:
Write down 2–3 story options you could twist. Pick your favorite by the end of the week.
