We're going to learn about India, where Mary, the main character of our book, was born. India is a really big country far away from here. It has lots of people, different kinds of food, and many languages. People there celebrate lots of festivals, and it's known for being very colorful and full of life.

India has big mountains, long rivers, and even deserts! It's a place with a lot of history, which means there are many old buildings and stories from a long time ago. The food is famous because it's very flavorful, and they use a lot of spices that might be new to us.
