Book List

Before we dive into the writing fun, let’s talk about what you’ll need for this course.

Here’s your official Creative Writing I supply list:

✏️ What You’ll Need

  • A dedicated writing journal or notebook
    • This is where you’ll do your daily journaling.
    • Choose one that you’ll enjoy writing in—lined, dotted, spiral-bound, sparkly, whatever works for you!
  • Your favorite pen or pencil
    • Something you like using. If you prefer typing, that’s okay too!
    • But I encourage you to write your journal entries by hand. It helps your brain engage more creatively.
  • A folder or binder (optional)
    • To store printed assignments, feedback, or notes from our live sessions.
  • A computer or tablet with internet access
    • You’ll need this to access lessons, post your writing in the comments, and join our biweekly live Zoom sessions.
  • A quiet(ish) place to write
    • It doesn’t have to be perfect. Just somewhere you can focus and be yourself for a few minutes each day.

Helpful Tips

  • You may also want to grab some sticky notes, colored pens, or highlighters to mark ideas you love or want to revisit.
  • Keep all your writing in one place—your journal, a Google doc, or even a writing folder—so you can see how far you’ve come.
  • If you're ever stuck or something feels confusing, that’s totally normal. Just ask me in the comments or bring it up in our next live session.

That’s it! Nothing too complicated—just you, your words, and a few tools to help you get started.

So, go gather your supplies, and I’ll see you in the first lesson, where we’ll jump into journaling and our very first creative challenge!
