If you are enjoying a nice day, go outside to an area with lots of trees.

• Study the trees in the area.
• How big are the trees? What kind of branches do they have?
• What does the bark on the tree look like? What does it feel like? Is it smooth or rough?
• Take out your Nature Journal and record what you observe. Then make a bark rubbing of one of the trees you observed. Make sure to label your sketches and include the date and time.
