Parent Note:

This classic fantasy includes mild peril, fantasy violence, and kidnapping, such as battles with pirates and moments of danger involving children, though all are presented in a playful, non-graphic way. There is no profanity or sexual content. Some language and portrayals reflect early 20th-century attitudes, which may feel outdated and benefit from discussion. The story emphasizes imagination, adventure, and the tension between childhood and growing up, making it suitable for elementary and middle school readers with gentle guidance.
