Project Supplies

You will need the following supplies for projects listed throughout the course. You do not have to complete each project. Choose those you think would be interesting or fun.
Sketch It Projects:
- Colored Pencils, Markers, or another drawing instrument
- Plain paper, cardstock, or sketch journal
Project 1, Turkish Delight
- 350 g (scant 2 cups) white sugar
- 175 ml (¾ cup) water (for syrup)
- 1.8 g (¼ teaspoon) citric acid
- 180 g (½ cup + 1 tablespoon + 1/4 cup + ⅔ cup) cornstarch
- 500 ml (2 cups + 5 teaspoons) water (for cornstarch)
- 1 ½ teaspoons rosewater
- 10 drops of red food color
- 45 g (⅓ cup) powdered sugar
Project 2, Changing Seasons
- A ball that can be pierced (orange, styrofoam ball, apple, etc.)
- Something to pierce the ball and hold it (skewer, straw, etc.)
- Flashlight or lamp
- Marker
Project 3, Cordial
- 2oz (50ml) lemon juice concentrate
- 15oz (450ml) orange juice – no pulp
- 17oz (500ml) grapefruit juice – no pulp
- silver edible food shimmer
- 2 drops of red or orange food coloring
- A round bottle
- Double-sided tape
- Red and gold glitter for decorating the outside of the bottle
