One way to become a better writer is to read good writing.
This week read "The Back of the Bus" by Mary Mebane from The Norton Sampler: Seventh Edition on page 120.
The writing project for this month is to write an allegory. Over the next few lessons, you will read several articles describing the process of writing an allegory. They will all be similar but may have a slightly different twist on the process.
Read the following article about allegory.
For this week, begin to think about an issue or moral that you would like to use for your allegory. If you choose a political or social issue, it needs to be something fairly well known so your audience can pick up on your underlying meaning.
