Rabbit Trail: Kotinos
Estimated Time: 5 minutes
The kotinos is a wreath made out of olive branches. According to tradition, the wreath was made from "wild olive leaves from a sacred tree near the temple of Zeus at Olympia."
This wreath was the reward for winning the ancient Olympics. The reward was an honor and not money.
